Léa Lemay Langlois joined the Dionne Schulze team in January 2019, first as an articling student and then as a lawyer. She works on various types of cases, including class action litigation related to historical institutional abuse and systemic discrimination. She also represents individuals in the claims process for such class actions as well as in individual proceedings. Léa is also involved in cases concerning specific claims and land management under the Indian Act, both in litigation and negotiation. She is particularly familiar with trauma-informed legal approaches.

Before joining Dionne Schulze, Léa worked with survivors in multicultural and transitional justice contexts, notably as a volunteer legal advisor for Lawyers Without Borders Canada, supporting human rights organizations in Guatemala. Léa wrote her master’s thesis on Canada’s international obligations regarding the disappearances of Indigenous women in Canada.
